It’s a good time to love reading!

We’re very excited about this upcoming event.  We’re looking forward to our community of readers congregating in Langley Hall @ 10.35 on Wednesday 23rd May to enjoy this fabulous book.

We’re also very excited about the arrival of our books  for the annual Book Fair.  Classes will be invited to preview the books and merchandise for sale on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th May.  Books will be on sale in the Library from 8.00am – 6.00pm Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th May.  You can order online and bring in a receipt, or pay with cash or EFTPOS on the day.

There is absolutely no pressure to purchase anything from the book fair, however, should you choose to do so, every dollar spent will benefit our library.

The Library will be closed for borrowing from Wednesday 23rd-Tuesday 29th May.  Our readers can borrow from our Pop-Up Libraries, R-2 can read on the Oxford Owl Platform and our 3-7 can access our Literacy Pro digital library 24/7.

In addition, each CLG reader has a subscription to our digital library, Wheelers eBooks.  (See infographic below.  Click on the image to enlarge).

Happy reading!

Breakfast Book Club in the tune of Matilda!

It might have been the coldest spell in Adelaide’s history for over a century, but it was warm in the library with our book lovers this morning.  We had our best turn out yet to once again share a delicious feast and our LOVE of Roald Dahl’s classic Matilda.

Our next Book Club will be held on the last day of term – Friday 7th July @ 7.45am in the library.  Our readers have been asked to choose their FAVOURITE BOOK EVER to share and to design something to convince us why their book is the best.  For our younger members Simone recommended any of the Tinkler’s Three series by MC Badger if they don’t have a favourite of their own.

It’s not too late to join if you’re interested -simply comment on the blog, email Simone or pop into the library.

Have a fabulous weekend,

Simone

SPECIAL BOOK FAIR GUEST AT ASSEMBLIES TODAY

Simone was so excited about Book Fair that she brought a very special  guest with her to both assemblies today…You might be lucky enough to meet him yourself next week!

Cranky Bear Guest Appearance

There’s a bear in there

Book Fair sales start this MONDAY from 8.00am to 6.00pm and continue on Tuesday from 8.00am to 6.00pm.

If you are unable to attend the Book Fair but your child is desperate to buy a book, you can purchase online.  Simply visit Scholastic, make your payment and send the receipt number in with your child (preferably on the back of their Book Wish). If the book is in stock we will send it home with them there and then, if not it will be ordered and at school within about 7-10 working days.

See you next week for another epic book loving week.

Fun event that ‘mooved’ the school – National Simultaneous Storytime

We had a BLAST sharing The cow tripped over the moon and enjoyed our best turn out ever!  Here is some crazy librarian pictured with  students from Room 24 who were just one of the 21 classes who attended this book loving event.  Thank you to our wonderful teachers for your support.

Just when we though the day couldn’t get any more exciting, our Book Fair arrived and we are LOVING it!  We can’t wait to open the doors for sales on Monday and Tuesday from 8.00am – 6.00pm.

Some of our great library monitors enjoying a sneak preview of the fair.

BOOK FAIR ARRIVES THIS WEDNESDAY

A brochure was sent home with your child today containing some of the titles that will be available for purchase at our Book Fair.  The books will arrive at school this Wednesday (how exciting!), and all classes have been invited to come and preview  the selection.  At this time students will be given the opportunity  to fill out a “Wish List” of books they would like you to consider purchasing.

PREVIEWS – Wednesday to Friday this week

SALES STRICTLY – MON 29 & TUE 30 MAY 8.00AM – 6.00PM

Should you choose to make a purchase your  support will be greatly appreciated as each dollar spent helps us to purchase more books for our learning community.

Happy Reading,
