SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB & PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE

prcPremier’s Reading Challenge finishes this FRIDAY 9th of SEPTEMBER

Our school tally is at 604, with just a handful of kids left to finish (most of who are only one book away). As Friday is a school closure day and Monday is a Pupil Free Day, we will accept PRC forms on Tuesday for those who forget to hand them up this week.

Thank you to the wonderful families who ordered through our last Scholastic Book Club catalogue.  I am delighted to say that the sales earned our library about $500 in commission to spend on books.

I am using this money to buy class novel sets and to purchase Book Wishes (student requests).

Book Wishes

Each year I invite students to make Book Wishes or recommendations for titles to add to our library collection .  Last year I received over 300 requests and purchased those that were suitable for our collection.   I write a response for every “Book Wish” so that they know whether or not the book will be purchased.  I have received and responded to over 50 book wishes already this year and ordered most of the requested titles last week! (How exciting!)  I can’t wait for them to arrive so that we can prepare them to hit the shelves as soon as possible.  IMG_4911
